My Focus & Approach

MY FOCUS & APPROACH

Healing at the root, not just the surface

Deep, lasting change doesn't come from insight alone. It comes from meeting the body, the nervous system, and the earliest parts of yourself — with curiosity, compassion, and the right tools.

My work draws together some of the most powerful and evidence-informed healing modalities available today, woven into a single, coherent approach tailored to you. Rather than applying one method to every person, I listen for what each part of your experience needs — and meet it there.

This integration honors a fundamental truth: trauma lives in the body, in relationship patterns, in the parts of us that learned to survive. Healing asks us to work at all of these levels — gently, at a pace that feels safe.

For those who have struggled with their relationship to food and their body, this approach extends naturally into the realm of eating and self-trust. As a certified Intuitive Eating counselor, I bring an understanding that disordered eating and chronic dieting are rarely about food itself — they are almost always rooted in the same territory we explore in trauma and attachment work. Reconnecting with the body's wisdom is not a separate journey; it is part of the same one.

THE MODALITIES I DRAW FROM

A woven practice, not a single method.

EMDR

Helps the brain complete processing of stuck traumatic memories so they lose their charge and can be held more peacefully.

Integrated IFS & EMDR

Integrates Internal Family Systems into every phase of EMDR — getting curious about the parts that hold trauma before, during, and after processing.

Compassionate Inquiry

Developed by Dr. Gabor Maté — gently explores the unconscious dynamics beneath our symptoms, not to fix but to understand and release.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Recognizes we are a family of inner parts — each with its own fears, roles, and wisdom. Healing means befriending them all.

Pia Mellody's Codependency Framework

Helps clients recognize how early experiences shaped their sense of self, boundaries, and relationship to others — and reclaim what was lost.

Intuitive Eating

Supports rebuilding trust with the body's own signals — moving from diet culture toward a relationship with food grounded in self-compassion.

"The question is not why the addiction, but why the pain."

- Dr. Gabor Maté

WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE

An integrated practice, not just a Protocol.

Sessions are collaborative and responsive — we follow what's alive for you, not a predetermined script

We work at the body level as well as the cognitive level, because lasting change often begins below language

Parts of you that have been protecting you are approached with curiosity rather than judgment

Relational patterns and attachment wounds are explored with care, especially where they connect to early family dynamics

For those working with food and body image, we move toward trust rather than control — reconnecting with the body's own intelligence

The goal is not to be "fixed" — it is to come home to yourself
